The Springfield Community Chorus
went to Carnegie Hall!
We are excited to share with you that the Springfield Community Chorus was invited to participate in a performance of Mozart's Requiem at Carnegie Hall on February 15, 2016. The concert was a presentation of Distinguished Concerts International New York, LLC (DCINY). DCINY is a for-profit organization that invites choruses to pay a fee to rehease and perform great choral works in the top concert halls in the world, including Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center and the world-famous Carnegie Hall.
A promoter from DCINY saw a video of our performance of Mozart's Requiem that was on YouTube! They were so impressed that they sought us out and invited the chorus to participate. They asked if they could use our YouTube video as our "audition." By the end of the day, we had received an email with the invitation! It is a great honor for both the chorus and the community to have been recognized in this way.
